Building description
Two monumental steel-framed buildings, clad in Indiana
limestone with elaborate copper sheet-metal cornices and
other ornamentation. Tall parapet walls, turrets, towers
and roof conditions made inspection by swing stage problematic
and uneconomical.
Scope of work
- provided safe access and rigging for inspection of 50%
sample of entire building facades
- completed the 50% facade inspection Sept. 9, 2001
- returned post-Sept. 11, 2001 to assess the effects of the
World Trade Center collapse on the facade condition
- completed 100% facade survey with condition report,
annotated elevations and photgraphs recording the
locations, severity, size and extent of existing conditions
of the limestone and copper facade, large ornamental
cornice, projecting balconies and copper and limestone
gargoyles
