Kent's Trip to Barcelona

Kent Diebolt traveled to Spain in December for 10 days to expand his knowledge of the history of Catalan vaulting.

In Barcelona, he toured La Pedrera. One of the larger works by Gaudi, it is an apartment building in the heart of Barcelona. The attic vaults are exquisite and the the fanciful but highly functional rooftop ornamentation evokes the sinister Darth Vader, of Starwars fame.

He also visited Empuries, the site of ancient Greek, then Roman, cities. There he toured Saint Marti, the original site of the Greek city Empuries. See more photos from Kent's trip.
