In nine out of the 12 cases, the 6000 psi design value or above was appropriate. In some cases, the ultimate shear value obtained in the lab was far greater than the 6000 psi concrete published value.
In two cases, the 2000 psi value was appropriate, and in one case the average ultimate shear strength was BELOW the 2000 psi value.
