Mechanical Anchor Strength in Stone Masonry

If the strength of an anchor installation in stone is similar to that in concrete, it is a function of the compressive strength of the base material up to a point. After this compressive strength threshold, the bolt material strength governs the installation. In other words, even if a base material has an infinite compressive strength, the anchor installation will still fail. Our first goal was to determine whether the relationship between anchor installation strength and compressive strength of base material is linear below the failure threshold.
