A Comparison of Two Methods



The notion of "direct digital input" was becoming a reality, but we were still left struggling with how to present the data. We feel that this approach has a future, although, as with any technology, there are some drawbacks and it is also important to pause and ask whether or not the technology resulted in a better product or improved efficiency in the field and office.

We feel that using the iPAQ/PocketCAD/ESA system resulted in a higher quality report, but that there is room for improvement. Questions of efficiency in the field and office are harder to answer, as there are a number of trade-offs and we are still relatively low on the learning curve.
